2008 FALL TRAVEL FLASH
Road Paving on Two LBL Roads to begin Nov. 11: November 11, 2008, (weather permitting) Road work on Energy Lake Road (USFS Road 134)is expected to start at Energy Lake Campground and extends three miles towards US HWY 68/80 along Road 134. Energy Lake Campground will be open, but must be accessed from the northern entrance from Mulberry Flat Rd off The Trace.
Also, work on Wranglers Campground Road (USFS Road 165) will begin at The Trace and ends at the campground. Wranglers Campground will be open; however, to avoid construction delays, visitors may want to access Wranglers from US HWY 68/80 and Road 160.
U.S. Highway 68/80 Construction Update: Four lane road construction on the portion of US Hwy 68/80, which runs east-west through LBL, from Canton to Aurora, KY continues throughout the fall. Be aware of a lane shift on US Hwy 68/80 near where it crosses over The Trace, near the LBL entrance onto Golden Pond Road.
For your safety and the safety of everyone involved in the project please slow down, be alert, and use caution in work zones. Motorists are advised to pay attention to construction signage, reduced speed limit, construction workers, and equipment.
